Sunglasses of 2011
- Share with facebook - Tweet This - Hyves

Last year, 2010 impressed a barrage of bumblebee sunglasses and aviator pairs. As the New Year opens and the summer gets closer still, sunglasses aficionados are sure to be on the lookout for Sunglasses trends 2011. It’s a good thing there are actually people in the know who were able to take a sneak peek at what the top designers have in store for us.

Cat Eye glasses

If you’re familiar with the fashion in the 50s and 60s, then you’ve seen cat eye sunglasses before. These are somewhat similar to wayfarer glasses but they have sharper corners pointing upwards. They literally look like cat ears and are the chicest pairs of glasses in history. John Lennon Sunglasses

Want circles in your eyes? John Lennon sunglasses are also making a comeback. Whereas last year, people wore giant sunglasses that covered at least 1/3 of their faces, this year, you could be seeing a lot less. This is a more masculine lens cut, though, so the men might be wearing this more than the women.

Retro Glasses

The sunglasses of the 70s (bumblebees and aviators) aren’t ready to go back to the closet, yet. They are, after all, one of the most flattering set of sunglasses you’ll ever find in fashion history. They’re still bound to be around in 2011, although the designs might be a bit more interesting than last year’s set.

Edgy Improvements

Futuristic fashion fans would also love the edgier styles of this year’s innovative sunglasses. Prepare for designs that look like goggles, lenses cut as octagons, aviator-inspired sunglasses with tiger prints, so on and so forth. The statement this year is definitely “bold and beautiful”, and you can let your imagination run away when you shop for the coolest pairs of designer sunglasses.

Essentials

While it’s always nice to be trendy, don’t forget face-shape rules when you’re picking out sunglasses for 2011. These lenses are meant to protect your eyes and flatter your faces. You don’t want them to sit there like an ugly conversation piece that’s interesting only because it sticks out too much. Be adventurous but wise while you’re shopping for the right glasses.
